Any student interested in applying for the Pengrowth Energy Scholarship should check the bulletin board outside guidance ASAP.  The applications are due this Friday, April 27th at noon and require an essay.

Attention Graduates:  Prom tickets are now on sale before school, at lunch and after school in room C244.  Permission forms must be signed by a parent/guardian before a ticket can be sold.  Prom tickets will not be sold during class time.

There will be an ultimate Frisbee practice today from 3:30 until 5:00 in the gym.

Congratulations go out to the members of the badminton team for a successful season! In intermediate boy’s doubles, Danny Lee and Jason Park won provincial silver while in senior boys doubles, Alex Huynh and Sooin Kim became Provincial Champions after destroying everyone in their path!

Today is the last day to submit your artwork to be shown in tomorrow’s Coffee House Art Show. Be sure to check the Arts Board for details before the end of the day if you’re interested.

The West’s Spring Coffee House is tomorrow night at 7 o’clock in the cafeteria. Come on out for a night of stellar student talent and art. Free food and drinks provided. Only two dollars at the door!

Any grade 10s or 11s interested in joining student Government next year, there are minister applications available in the office as of this morning so go out and get one! They are due back 9:00 am on Friday May 4th.

“The National Day of Silence is this Friday, April 27th. The Day of Silence is an annual event in which students pledge to be silent for the duration of the school day in solidarity with those LGBTQ students that feel the need to live in silence due to the verbal harassment they so often face. Sign up lists to take the pledge and participate in the Day of Silence are available in the Main Office and outside the Youth Health Centre now.”

This week is earth week and tomorrow is Camo day!

Hope for Wildlife is a charitable wildlife rehabilitation organization. They have rescued over 40,000 injured and orphaned wild animals. They will be giving a presentation with animals next Friday in the seminar room! Sign-up sheet is posted on the gov room door and is limited for the first 50 people.

 Could all grade 12s from the badminton and curling team please go to the gym afterschool for your grade 12 profiles.

There will be a short meeting for the 2D Animation skills challenge team today at lunch in room A310.

Today is the last day for Track & Field athletes to get a tryout time for sprints.  Practice is today afterschool at the CGC. You must sign the entry sheet outside Ms. Duggan’s office by noon if you do not have a membership.

The Halifax West Programming Club meets every Wednesday at lunch in Room B320. 

If you have an interest in learning to code we welcome you to come to our weekly meetings - no experience necessary just a passion to learn to code. 

Are you interested in becoming involved with Student Government next year? Minister applications are available in the main office now.  There is a ministry for everyone: Arts, Sports, Volunteerism and Warriors Live to name a few!  All applications must be returned to the main office by May 4th.
