African heritage celebrations have been going on throughout the province for the past two weeks as February is African history month. Nova Scotia has been home to people of African descent for over 400 years with Mathieu da Costa first arriving in Port Royal in 1604. Take the time to learn more about the great contributions of African Nova Scotian’s this month and remember it may only be one month of celebration, but education happens all year.

Students who are participating in the African heritage month assembly should meet in the theatre today at lunch. See Ms. de la Chevotiere in C225 if you can't attend, but are still interested in participating.

Today is the first day of the 3 on 3 basketball tournament. Come to the gym at lunch to cheer for your favourite teams and show support to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Give 50 cents at the door and you’re in! The tournament runs all week, don’t miss out!

Congratulations to the boy’s hockey team on a great end to the season. They played their last game of the season on Saturday against Millwood High and fought hard for a 6-0 win, giving goalie Kaden Keith his last shutout of the season. Way to wrap up the year boys!

A Jack chapter meeting will occur today at lunch in the science area painting pod.
