Hey there students of Halifax West! Are you interested in K-Pop? If so then the Halifax West K-Pop club is just the place for you! You can learn choreographies from popular K-Pop groups like BTS, Blackpink, Twice, Seventeen and even more. To join this club you don’t need any prior knowledge on K-Pop or dancing skills but if you do that’s also great. If you’re feeling uncomfortable about dancing but want to join then you can always just spectate. We promise to try our best to make sure everyone feels welcome. Come join us in room C123 starting this Friday at lunch.

The Warrior Shop is going to be opening soon!  To get ready we are having a huge one day sale on our 2019 crew necks and hoodies.  There aren't many left, so there are limited sizes, but what we have left is going for $15 to $20.  The one day sale will happen on Thursday, October 10th at lunch time in room A317.  Cash only.  See you then!

Are you interested in promoting health in your school community?  Are you interested in bringing your voice to the health needs of your peers? And are you interested in making health fun? If so, then this school committee is for you! All our welcome  to come hear about the schools Health Action Team  On Thursday in the youth health centre, B315.

A reminder to any students interested in applying to be a Party leader in this year's Model Parliament that applications are due back to Mme Fougere by this Friday at 3:30pm in room C144. If you need any application, please see Mme Fougere. If you are interested in being a part of Model Parliament but missed the last meeting, it's not too late! Stay tuned for another meeting coming up soon.

One of our biggest events is coming up soon! Our annual Wake-a-thon will take place on Friday, October 25th from 7:00pm to 7:00am. Students collect pledges to attend this all-night event at the school. We will have many activites during the night including dancing, gaming and pizza at midnight and it's all for a great cause - the Brunswick Street Mission and the Ronald McDonald House. Stay tuned for more details next week!

Halifax West will be hosting several local candidates for the federal election to speak about their political careers and youth involvement in politics. An assembly will be held during C block on Wednesday the 16th, and there will be an opportunity for interested students to meet the local candidates in the seminar room at lunch. During the assembly, candidates will be answering student-submitted questions. Make sure your voice is heard; please submit questions for the candidates into the drop-box in the main office by Friday.
