The Nova Scotia International Student Program, through the Halifax Regional School Board, is looking for families to host international students in their home. Our students come from many
different countries around the world, and stay a duration of 3, 5, to 10 months.

This is a wonderful opportunity to expose your family to another culture, and help a visiting student adapt to our culture. Quite often the friendships developed from hosting an
international student, last a lifetime. Hosting an international student is a great way to show school support, and add valuable diversity to our community.
● Host families provide a private bedroom, 3 meals a day, and inclusion in family activities.
● Host families will receive a tax-free monthly stipend.
● NSISP provides hands on support from a local homestay coordinator throughout the hosting period.
● Students have a working knowledge of English.
● Everyone has the opportunity to share in cultural exchange.
The Nova Scotia International Student Program also holds monthly cultural events for the students, and some events include invitations to host families.
