Parents of incoming HWHS Grade 10’s (2025-2026):
Welcome to Halifax West High! We are proud to offer the incoming grade 10s the opportunity to brush up on their math skills before the start of the school year. This free program will be delivered in a fun and exciting way which serves not only to boost our students’ confidence, but also serves as a part of their orientation to high school.
We look forward to your engagement and support, and would like you to share the following information with your child in hopes that they will participate to maximize their success in Grade 10 Academic Math (including pre-IB)! This program is only open to students registered at Halifax West High School for their upcoming grade 10 year in Math 10 and Math 10 pre IB. Due to the limitation on numbers, we encourage you to enroll your child as soon as possible!

Join Halifax West High’s 2-day Math 10 Boot Camp and set yourself up for success!
· Two days of focused learning that will give you a head start, making the transition to Grade 10 smoother and more rewarding.
· Strengthen your foundation by revisiting essential Grade 9 math concepts. We'll help you bridge the gap and be ready to tackle Grade 10 topics head-on!
· Kickstart the school year with renewed confidence! This boot camp empowers you to approach Grade 10 with a positive mindset, helping you excel from day one.
· Start your year knowing the school and some of the staff that are here to support you.

When: Wednesday August 27th & Thursday August 28th
Time: 9 am to 2 pm ( Lunch will be from 11:30 - 12:00. Students are asked to bring their own)
Transportation: Families responsibility
