Any girls interested in trying out for the girls B soccer please meet in room A283 at 3:30 today.

Any students interested in participating in the Halifax West Annual Multicultural show which showcases students talent from all over the world should attend a meeting on Thursday, September 28th, in the green room (at the end of the Drama hallway.) at the beginning of the lunch hour. If you cannot attend but are still interested then please contact Ms. Tufts or Ms. de la Chevotiere. 

On Wednesday, October 4th HWHS will be hosting the AARAO Career fair in the gymnasium.  The Career Fair will give our grade 11 and 12 students an opportunity to learn more about post-secondary opportunities in Atlantic Canada.  Students will be called down according to alphabet.  There will also be a Parent Information Session held that same evening from 6-7pm in the gym.  We encourage students and parents to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity.

Our annual Yearbook cover contest is starting back up, anyone interested in creating a design for the 2017-18 yearbook cover please bring in your design to room C149 any time before October 6th.

The yearbook committee will be collecting Grade 12 baby pictures for the 2017-18 year book. For any grade twelves interested in submitting a photo, please bring it to room C149 any time before October 6th. 

The West's first Coffee House of the year is quickly approaching. The Coffee House is taking place on Wednesday, September 27th at 7 p.m. here in the cafeteria. It will cost $2 at the door and all the proceeds will be going to Hurricane Relief funds. There will also be a bake sale for Hurricane relief funds at the entrance, so be sure to bring some extra change.

There will be a girls B soccer meeting today in the gym at lunch with the first game being this Thursday, more will be discussed at lunch.

The Baseball team will be moving on to Regional Semi Finals on Thursday Oct 5 @6pm. Come out and cheer them on!

We are trying something new this year warriors, instead of having an athlete of the month we will be having an athlete of the week. This past weeks athlete of the week is Julia McIsaac. She's been a member of the volleyball team for 3 years now and has always been a vital member of the team.  She's a hard worker and always hits the floor.  Her positive attitude and leadership is a huge positive and example for the rest of the team. Great Job Julia! Please come to the office to pick up your certificate.

There will be a meeting on Tuesday, September 26th at lunch for any students interested in a two week March break trip to China.

There will be a brief meeting for anyone looking to try out for the girls hockey team today at lunch in the gym.

Girls hockey tryouts will be at 5:00-6:00 pm today at Centennials.

The Learning Center is looking for two litre pop bottles clear or green to complete the green house.  Any pop bottles brought in will be greatly appreciated.

The West Baseball team remains undefeated with a 9-2 victory over CPA in the regional quarter-final on Friday. 

The boys are reminded of practice today at 3:30 -- it will take place at Westridge Field -- NOT Mainland Common. 

The boys’ soccer team won for the third year in a row the Kings Edgehill Invitational Soccer tournament played in Windsor NS this past weekend. The boys won their first 3 preliminary games by scores of 5-1,2-0 and 2-0 .Senior players  Ayoub Al Arabi with 2 goals and Youssef El Aun with the insurance marker led the Warriors to a 3-1 championship win over the host school KingsEdgehill this past Saturday afternoon.  Congrats to boys on their latest performance."
