Halifax West High School with the support of Halifax Regional Arts and the Bella Rose Arts Centre proudly presents Roald Dahl's 'Matilda the Musical' coming May 11, 12 and 13, 2023.
This highly imaginative and comedic family friendly Musical; written by Dennis Kelly with Music and Lyrics by Tim Minchin stars Halifax West Students on the beautiful Bella Rose Arts Centre Stage at 283 Thomas Raddall Drive, Halifax; located in Mi’kma’ki, the traditional ancestral and unseeded territory of the Mi’kmaq people.
Inspired by the incredible genius of Roald Dahl, this Tony Award-winning Musical tells the story of Matilda, an extraordinary girl who, armed with a wonderful spirit and a sharp mind, dares to take a stand against the evil Trunchbull in an effort to change her destiny. Packed with high energy dance numbers and memorable tunes, 'Matilda the Musical' is sure to please any aged audience member!
Halifax West High School's production has many talented performers, musicians and artists featured on stage and off. Come join us for a truly delightful night of theatre with the talented performances of the comedic Wormwood family, the inspirational Miss Honey, the truly evil Trunchbull, the delightful Children of Crunchem Hall, and spectacular portrayal of a confident and strong little girl called Matilda.
