We are proud to share the exciting news of one of our Grade 12  students who has been named a 2024 Schulich Leader and STEM scholar! Emma Creelman is the recipient of the prestigious $ 100 000 scholarship to the University of British Columbia and now joins an esteemed network of young leaders who have earned this recognition. Congratulations, Emma!

Emma is graduating from Halifax West High School in the International Baccalaureate Program where she has demonstrated her critical thinking skills, her ambition and her strong work ethic. She has pushed herself to seize every opportunity to learn and to grow. Outside of the classroom, Emma has taken on leadership roles in Student Government, in the school STEM club and was chosen to be a Youth ambassador for the National Raise the Roof campaign. Emma is also a part of the award winning 2023 HWHS Brilliant Blue team that has been investigating small-scale aquaculture methods to support food security in coastal communities. Her involvement in projects like this highlight her commitment to using STEM to solve problems in society.
