What is your "why"? What drives you to do this important work each day?
I am driven because our students need someone to validate, understand, and advocate for them.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
I really enjoy learning about the different cultural practices amongst our students.
What would you most like families to know about the role of Student Support Workers in HRCE schools?
I really would like families to know. I am here to support their child. There are different levels of support that I provide. I mostly serve as an advocate for the students. I try to provide a level of trust and rapport with students. Overall, I am trying to provide the students with some positive experiences while they are at Halifax West.
