Graduation Highlights
● Our event(s) celebrating our grade 12 students will take place over 4 days, June 24 –
June 29, celebrating our graduates individually, adhering to public health guidelines
● Students will have individual appointments to come to the school, receive their
graduation package (diploma, report cards, awards, scholarships, etc)
● Students can be accompanied by a maximum of two people (this may change if public
health guidelines are modified prior to graduation date(s))
● Students will be receiving their individual appointment time on Wednesday evening June
16 / 21, which will be sent to student / parent email addresses.
● Students will be receiving their graduation cap / gown / tassel on the day of their
graduation ceremony
● Our ceremony(s) will be live streamed (link to be included with the email invitation with
their appointment time)
● Our professional photographer will also be on hand to take photos which are available
for purchase through our photographer
● We will also have a photo booth available so you can take pictures with your graduate
afterward
● To accompany our in person event(s) we are also working on a video which includes
some of those graduation ceremony traditions we don’t want our grads missing out on
(valedictorian, salutatorian, principal’s message, etc)
● A Graduation Fee of $30.00 payable by cash or cheque to Halifax West High School is
being collected.
● The grad fee contributes to the cost of the Bella Rose Arts Centre facility rental, rental of
sound and video equipment and the purchase of grad gowns, souvenir caps and tassels.

● In order to appear in our grad video, remember to fill out the Grad Video Permission form
on our school website (under the Our School / For Students section)
● Students make sure to check out our HW Grad Class of 2021 Google Classroom for the
latest updates (Classroom Code 2kiwrir)
