Halifax West High School

Open Tomorrow (Friday, June 11, 2021)

June 10 / 2021
Good Afternoon Students and Families,
Following consultation with Public Health, we look forward to welcoming our students back to school tomorrow. For those students who are still isolating, our teachers will continue to support their learning while they are at home.
During the closure, the entire building received a comprehensive cleaning. As part of this process, electrostatic sprayers were used to ensure all surfaces were disinfected.
I recognize you may be anxious about your child(ren) returning to school. Please be assured that we continue to take our direction from Public Health and the experts at IWK Health Centre. They tell us that school, where students can learn and socialize with their peers in a safe environment, is the best place for young people.
Please continue to monitor your child(ren) daily for signs or symptoms of COVID-19 using Nova Scotia’s daily checklist at: https://novascotia.ca/coronavirus/docs/Daily-COVID-checklist-en.pdf .
If your child(ren) has or develops signs or symptoms as described on the checklist please keep them home and complete the COVID-19 self-assessment online at https://covid-self-assessment.novascotia.ca or call 811 if you are unable to access the online tool.
Just a reminder that tomorrow we are following Thursday’s Block Pattern and it is D Block in the morning (9:10 am - 11:50 am) and C Block in the afternoon (12:40 pm - 3:20 pm).
For those students who are completing their final cumulative assessments next week they are proceeding as normal on the day, date, and time previously communicated to you by the classroom teacher(s).    Please reach out to your classroom teacher if you have any questions about these.
Have a great day and we look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow!
Greg MacKinnon,

Principal
