The Keshen Goodman Library will be running a monthly book club beginning Sept 22nd.  It will be held in the Seminar Room at lunchtime.  Bring your lunch, share a love of reading and talk about your favorite book.  All are welcome to attend.

This year we are trying something new!  We the West will be taking on the Participation 150 playlist every second Monday with a new activity.  For more information and to sign-up please refer to the sports board.  This Monday the 18th we will be having our first activity in the gym at lunch.  Our first activity will be Zumba.  Sign up and join the fun! 

Students interested in obtaining a valid student parking pass for the 1st term should complete the Expression of Interest located on the Halifax West High School website. Students that are eligible will be notified the week of Sept. 18-22nd 2017.  Beginning on September 25th failure to clearly display a valid student parking permit may result in your vehicle being ticketed and/or towed.

If you are interested in participating in the leukaemia and lymphoma society's Light the Night walk, which raises money to put an end to blood cancers, come to a quick information meeting in room C346 today at lunch.

The Halifax West's Gender Sexuality Alliance has its first meeting coming up soon. It will be taking place on Monday, September 18th at lunch time in room C228. Everyone is welcome, so we hope to see you there! 

There will be a Cross Country practice Monday after school. If you haven't yet picked up a cross country form be sure to pick one up from Ms. Brennan in room A284.

Our annual Yearbook cover contest is starting back up, anyone interested in creating a design for the 2017-18 yearbook cover please bring in your design to room C149 any time before October 6th.

Good luck to our girls volleyball team this weekend, as they will be representing the West in their tournament in PEI. 

The yearbook committee will be collecting Grade 12 baby pictures for the 2017-18 year book. For any grade twelves interested in submitting a photo, please bring it to room C149 any time before October 6th.

The West football team lost 12-0 to Sir John A this afternoon. Our next game is next Thursday September 21 at CP Allen.

There will be a Duke of Ed meeting today at lunch in room C344 for candidates looking to achieve their Silver award at the end of the month. 

The boys’ soccer team is reminded of their game today 6 pm at mainland commons. The team roster for tonight’s game will be posted in the gym area. Boys are reminded to bring both jerseys and arrive for 5:15 pm.
