On Wednesday, October 4th HWHS will be hosting the AARAO Career fair in the gymnasium.  The Career Fair will give our grade 11 and 12 students an opportunity to learn more about post-secondary opportunities in Atlantic Canada.  For more information, please see the bulletin board outside Guidance.

Applications to be nominated for the Loran Scholarship are due to guidance on Friday, October 6th at 9am. Please see the guidance bulletin board for more details.

Any student interested in a two week trip to China on the March Break, please attended a meeting on Thursday at lunch in room C240.

If you are interested in joining a club or group at HWHS check out the updated list of clubs running this year on our school website.  If you have any questions, please see the teacher in charge of the club.

Cross-country running practices will be held today and Thursday after school. Runners are asked to meet in Mrs. Brennan's classroom at 3:30 pm.

Students must have gym clothes in order to participate in Badminton.  Staff is welcome to attend.

Our annual Yearbook cover contest is starting back up, anyone interested in creating a design for the 2017-18 yearbook cover please bring in your design to room C149 any time before October 6th.

The yearbook committee will be collecting Grade 12 baby pictures for the 2017-18 year book. For any grade twelves interested in submitting a photo, please bring it to room C149 any time before October 6th. 

There is a Boys Volleyball game today at 6pm vs Lockview at Lockview High. Good luck boys.

Any Girls B soccer players who haven’t picked up their forms yet please pick one up from Mr. Smeltzer.

Interested in helping out in your community? Student Government is holding their annual Wake-A-Thon on October 20th. Students can stay up all night in the school in support of the Brunswick Street Mission and Ronald McDonald House. Pledge forms are available in the office for all of those who are interested. We’d love to see you there!

Attention all singers.  Our school choir will start up tomorrow (Wednesday) at lunch in the music room.  Everyone who loves to sing is welcome.  Also, jazz band starts this Thursday at 8am in the music room.  All are welcome as well.

Hey Warriors!  The World Involvement Committee is resuming sucker sales this week at lunch in the caf. Look for the red and white cart and come buy a delicious sucker for only $1.  There are lots of fun flavours to choose from and all proceeds go to a great cause - The Nova Scotia Gambia Association!

Would you like to save money while you shop? Come to the caf at lunch and buy a Student Price Card for only $10 and save at a variety of stores all year long!  David's Tea, Forever 21, American Eagle, Pita Pit and much more!  Check it out at the sucker cart any day at lunch.

Yesterday Halifax West Boy’s B Soccer team defeated Dartmouth High 8-0.

The cross-country team has a meet tomorrow in Shubie Park.  All runners, who are attending, must see Mrs. Brennan to confirm drives and participation. There is a practice on Thursday after school at 3:30.
